This past weekend we celebrated Catherine’s wedding to Kevin and it is safe to say that it lived up to our expectations and then some – well actually a lot more. I won’t give away too many details; I’ll let Catherine do that when she’s ready to share some photos from the big day! I will say that we danced into the wee hours of Friday morning to the likes of Bieber, Spice Girls + Britney Spears, champagne in hand. And now, Catherine is down south in West Palm Beach enjoying her honeymoon with Kevin and I am extreeeeeemely jealous; I’m sure you all are too.
Most of the weddings I have attended in recent years happened to be ones where I was a bridesmaid. This meant that my get-up was chosen for me, or in collaboration with the bride, and I did not have to worry about that decision in the least! When my cousin Caitlin’s wedding rolled around last week, however, I was excited to try something new. I found these amazing pants at Zara while Catherine and I were in New York and knew instantly that I had to do something really cool with them.
Nothing like saying ‘what’s up spring?’ with a trusty all black outfit. I mean, really, what else did you expect? As much as I keep trying to branch out with new pieces (and I really am trying), I always find myself coming back to black basics. It’s just so easy to mix and match my favorite black pieces to create new looks, no matter the season. Yes, I feel very redundant at this point, but alas, that’s about all I’ve got for you guys on this last Friday in March.
Do you guys have anything in life that you seriously regret? I don’t mean, like, oops. I mean, something you can’t go back and change?
For my birthday this year (the day after Christmas), John got me a bike! Its a turquoise cruiser and it is absolutely perfect for me. One of my favorite things growing up was riding bikes at the beach during our family vacations and around the neighborhood where I grew up. This past summer when we were at the beach John and I had such fun biking to and from the beach and all around Seaside and Watercolor and I can’t remember if I actually told him it would be fun to do it at home or if he could just tell. Either way, Johnny for the win.
Splattered across social media and consuming small talk conversations over the past week has been the crazy weather – at least in our neck of the woods. A few weeks ago we were graced with 8 and a half inches of snow here in RVA and by Thursday it was a balmy 68 degrees. In such situations, I have got to make sure I am prepared for whatever may come my way when I walk out the door in the morning.
Well folks, here we are in 2017 and I am going to write a little bit about my goals, as cliche as it it may be. 2016 was an amazing year- John and I bought a house, my sister and Catherine both got engaged, I started helping my mom out with her Turkish Towel biz, and of course the blog has continued to flourish (thank you all for your help with that!) That being said, it was a veryyyyy busy year and things were so overwhelming at times that it was tempting to just shut down completely. My goal for 2017 is to avoid said meltdown moments.
Confession: I am lazy. Well, I wouldn’t say lazy. Rather, I would say that I despise working out. Despise. However, I like all of the things that are involved in working out – specifically the clothes. So I do what any other fashion girl who loves workout clothes would do – seamlessly work them into my every day wardrobe. These Fabletics leggings are my most recent favorite fake work out gear and I cannot get enough of them. Do yourself a favor and check out all of the amazing patterns that they come in. You’ll need more than one pair so check out all that Fabletics has to offer & get $10 off with THIS LINK. (more…)
This jumpsuit is named adequately “Midsummer’s Dream” and I sure do feel like I’m a little fairy flitting thru the woods when I’m wearing it. Literally, it makes me want to prance around. However, we have said goodbye to the dog days of summer and are making our way well into fall here in #RVA. This morning I woke up and it was so chilly, I almost had to put on a jacket. As cliche as it is to say, how is it seriously almost mid-October?! (more…)

While sometimes, especially around our bi-annual trips to New York for Fashion Week, I feel like we are missing out by living in a “small” city, other times I am reminded of just how lucky we are to call Richmond our home. Sure, there’s Barney’s and Bloomingdale’s in New York (both of which we are sure to visit each and every time), but here in Richmond we have perfectly curated boutiques, like Roan. Catherine showed off one of her favorite picks from our collaboration with Roan last week, and I am simply obsessed with this Elizabeth & James vest that jumped off of the racks and into my arms. I’ll reiterate what Catherine said >> if you haven’t been into Roan, or seen what they’ve got online, you’re missing out! (more…)
