For my birthday this year (the day after Christmas), John got me a bike! Its a turquoise cruiser and it is absolutely perfect for me. One of my favorite things growing up was riding bikes at the beach during our family vacations and around the neighborhood where I grew up. This past summer when we were at the beach John and I had such fun biking to and from the beach and all around Seaside and Watercolor and I can’t remember if I actually told him it would be fun to do it at home or if he could just tell. Either way, Johnny for the win.

I have recently realized, in my 28th summer, that I have truly become a creature of habit. Whether it be the way that I order my Starbucks Iced Venti Green Tea (no water, no syrup, splash of lemonade), the way that I organize the wine glasses in the cabinet, the bag that I carry or my go-to pieces of clothing. On the clothing end, it seems to particularly happen in the summer – in the warmer temperatures – where I simply have a few items on repeat that I just keep reaching for in my closet. If you have been following along, you have seen that two caftans are currently this summer’s favorites (here and here) and this Archive by Alexa Olive Slip Dress from Marks & Spencer has quickly become a regular in my summer wardrobe rotation as well.

When I got these Sam Edelman Fringe booties from Shoebox last week, I knew I wanted to recreate this all-white w black shoes winter look from earlier this year in New York. I have no shame in admitting that these are the same white jeans from the February get-up, as they are a staple in my wardrobe along w my trusty Louis Sully bag. So, here we have the its-almost-fall-so-I-can-wear-booties version of the white on white plus black thing.
(Side note: Everyone knows the No White After Labor Day Rule is SO outdated.)
shop this look: IRO Tank. Sam Edelman Booties. Free People Halter Bralette. Gorjana Necklace.
*As seen on The Crystal Press*Since I got engaged last year, I have been collecting white dresses (as some of you may have noticed). From Free People to Alice & Olivia to this beautiful Milly number, I have collected quite a few and i just cant stop wearing them! This was a favorite on my honeymoon and I know it is sure to be a staple in my closet from now on – because, who says you have to stop wearing white after your wedding day? Hopefully no one.
ps. I haven’t taken off this OCIE New York Trina Triangle necklace since our party last week! Make sure to check out Sarah’s other beautiful pieces.
I think its safe to say that my wardrobe has a serious black-and-white-plus-red-lip thing going on. Technically these jeans are just really really light denim, but for the purpose of this outfit, lets just say they are white. They have been my go-to for years now and give any outfit a little edge. The dazed-floral print on the tunic and the geometric pattern on the shoes are the perfect compliment to each other because of the black-and-white thing and really take this outfit to the next “matchy-matchy” level (imho). *Cue dancing in the streets & feeling like a flower child in platform mules*
