Box of Style – Floral Robe

Every quarter I get The Zoe Report Box of Style and like to incorporate it into my OOTDs, as you may have noticed if you are a long time TCP supporter. This past spring I fell behind and only ended up showcasing the earrings, but alas, what can ya do?  that being said, I have got to say that this summer box is my favorite to date! I loved last summer’s with the Michael Stars caftan, but this one really takes the cake! This Helena Quinn robe + Raen sunnies are just too fabulous for words – so I’ll let the outfit do the talking! I am in no way sponsored by The Zoe Report (although I would welcome that, of course); I just seriously think this product is one of the best subscription boxes out there! At only $100 it contains $400 worth of stuff and this one was seriously fantastic.

Work in Progress

I’m sitting here, staring at my screen, waiting for inspiration to strike me, and I’m thinking ‘well, I’ll just write about how to get inspired to write a blog post.’ Very meta huh? Is that what meta is? I’ve never really understood the whole meta thing.  Butttt I digress. In all honesty, I don’t think that I could tell you anything helpful about how to get inspired to write a blog post.  I am always telling Catherine that she is so good at writing mindful, inspired posts and I’m always over here like HEY HOW COOL IS THIS DRESS?  Continue reading “Work in Progress”

Equipment Knox Dress

Well folks, here we are in 2017 and I am going to write a little bit about my goals, as cliche as it it may be.  2016 was an amazing year- John and I bought a house, my sister and Catherine both got engaged, I started helping my mom out with her Turkish Towel biz, and of course the blog has continued to flourish (thank you all for your help with that!) That being said, it was a veryyyyy busy year and things were so overwhelming at times that it was tempting to just shut down completely.  My goal for 2017 is to avoid said meltdown moments.

Stanton Top

*I feel like I start a lot of posts like this but…*
One of my favorite things about being a blogger is getting to work with brands that otherwise would not be on our day to day radar. (No offense to H&M, Zara, Forever 21 & Free People because we love those brands, of course). From local jewelry designers to companies trying to make a splash with one simple piece to amazingly crafted wears from designers abroad, we’ve been exposed to some seriously talented folks and I love getting to write about it on here.

Tibi Bell Sleeve Dress

It’s no secret that my motivation to become a blogger is rooted in my discovery of Tibi and designer, Amy Smilovic, 6 years ago. I have loved watching the evolution of the brand and I know that each and every season, there is going to be something new and interesting. I have pieces in my closet (a pair of Mary Janes, a Jumpsuit) that are among some of my first Tibi pieces and I don’t think I will ever have the heart to throw them out, even when they are worn completely through. They help to serve as a constant reminder of where this whole adventure began and I’ve grown so accustomed to seeing them on a daily basis.

Ok, get to the point Rebecca…  Continue reading “Tibi Bell Sleeve Dress”

Hometown Love

While sometimes, especially around our bi-annual trips to New York for Fashion Week, I feel like we are missing out by living in a “small” city, other times I am reminded of just how lucky we are to call Richmond our home. Sure, there’s Barney’s and Bloomingdale’s in New York (both of which we are sure to visit each and every time), but here in Richmond we have perfectly curated boutiques, like Roan. Catherine showed off one of her favorite picks from our collaboration with Roan last week, and I am simply obsessed with this Elizabeth & James vest that jumped off of the racks and into my arms.  I’ll reiterate what Catherine said >> if you haven’t been into Roan, or seen what they’ve got online, you’re missing out! FILA Leotard

It has been so unbearably hot these past few weeks and it has been so tempting to just hole up in our air conditioned living room and binge watch Netflix, Hulu and HBO with a bottle of wine.  (Don’t get me wrong, there has been plenty of that )  However, there are a few summer traditions that our friends have that we do our best to repeat every year, regardless of the desert conditions and the humid Virginia air.

Year One as a Piersol

*warning:semi-sappy post ahead*  Recently John and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary and the year has seriously flown by. Our first year was full of so many new and fun adventures, including, as most of you know by now, buying a house!  (See above photo for my exact feelings on the subject).  We decided to turn the whole weekend into a mini celebration here in Richmond, since we weren’t able to make it back up to The Homestead.

We started by venturing up to our favorite vineyard outside of Charlottesville: Blenheim – which is also where we took our engagement photos, wandering around the endless rows of vines. We’re kind of obsessed with the place and seriously obsessed with their Painted Red & Painted White wines, whose labels are designed by the vineyard’s owner, Dave Matthews (no big deal).  Needless to say we tasted their current wines, drank some Painted White, picked up our wine club trio and enjoyed the beautiful views that make Central Virginia one of our most favorite places to be.  We made it back home in time to share some champagne on our screened porch with our parents.

We spent the rest of the weekend with friends, gallivanting around town, hitting some of our favorite spots, and trying to beat the 100 degree heat (which was not an easy task by any stretch of the imagination). We had the most delicious dinner at Stella’s the Monday of our anniversary and of course it did not disappoint. A bottle of wine, saganaki and a whole lot of feta was just what the doctor ordered!

Shoutout to John, Mr. Crystal Press, for the best year of my life and for his undying love and support – especially when it comes to TCP. I couldn’t it without him and for that I am truly thankful.  Thanks Johnny, this is just the beginning!!

Summer Set

*As seen on The Crystal PressBlue Set 6A few weeks ago John and I threw a housewarming party and I am still feeling so thankful for all of the friends and family who helped us celebrate. We introduced all of our friends and family to our new home and I am just overwhelmed by the love and support we have around us. 50 or more people from all different aspects of our lives showed up to help us stock the bar, play some cornhole and mostly just chat and carry on for hours and and hours. It was a great excuse to get all of our different friend groups together on a hot, HOT summer night.  If I do say so myself, we threw a hell of a party! Continue reading “Summer Set”

Accessorizing Summer

*As Seen on The Crystal PressM&S 2
I have recently realized, in my 28th summer, that I have truly become a creature of habit. Whether it be the way that I order my Starbucks Iced Venti Green Tea (no water, no syrup, splash of lemonade), the way that I organize the wine glasses in the cabinet, the bag that I carry or my go-to pieces of clothing.  On the clothing end, it seems to particularly happen in the summer – in the warmer temperatures – where I simply have a few items on repeat that I just keep reaching for in my closet. If you have been following along, you have seen that two caftans are currently this summer’s favorites (here and here) and this Archive by Alexa Olive Slip Dress from Marks & Spencer has quickly become a regular in my summer wardrobe rotation as well.
