Splattered across social media and consuming small talk conversations over the past week has been the crazy weather – at least in our neck of the woods. A few weeks ago we were graced with 8 and a half inches of snow here in RVA and by Thursday it was a balmy 68 degrees. In such situations, I have got to make sure I am prepared for whatever may come my way when I walk out the door in the morning.
This year for Christmas, my husband (aka Mr. TCP) got me this fabulous Rebecca Minkoff backpack. I have been wanting a backpack since they were on the cusp of being trendy and Johnny really pulled through with the perfect one. I showed him this one as an example and was overjoyed on Christmas morning to find it under the tree.
However, I have become so accustomed to styling my crossbody and tote bags, so when I went to use this one with an outfit, it was a little awkward at first to say the least. Do I put it on? Do I hold the top loop? Cath, what do I do with this!? After trying any and all possibilities I found that for photos, over one shoulder is definitely the way to go. Wearing it practically on my back is perfect for gallivanting around Richmond and on the streets of New York, but it just did not work in photos. So in case you have been struggling with a similar issue, there it is.
I’ve rounded up a few of my favorite backpacks for youuuuu below!
Well folks, here we are in 2017 and I am going to write a little bit about my goals, as cliche as it it may be. 2016 was an amazing year- John and I bought a house, my sister and Catherine both got engaged, I started helping my mom out with her Turkish Towel biz, and of course the blog has continued to flourish (thank you all for your help with that!) That being said, it was a veryyyyy busy year and things were so overwhelming at times that it was tempting to just shut down completely. My goal for 2017 is to avoid said meltdown moments.
I don’t have to tell you guys that holiday time can be a crazy time. Between shopping, working and this year planning Catherine’s upcoming wedding, it’s rare that we have the chance to spend the afternoon shooting photos. Oh, and the fact that it gets dark before 5pm doesn’t help either. So when we got dressed up for a holiday outing and it was 25 degrees out but we had a mere 15 minutes to spare, we had to take advantage of the opportunity. Continue reading “Winter Box of Style”
This weekend I was in Birmingham for my sister’s engagement party and after a weekend full of endless celebrations and airports, you could say I am a little this week. That being said, I’m going to keep this post short and sweet (for your sake and mine) with a list of all the good stuff on the off chance that you have a case of the Mondays as well. Continue reading “Ellena Dress”
Well, friends, it is finally winter here in good old V-A. Frost on the car, temperatures in the 30s and all of the other misery that the windy cold brings along with it. That being said – lets back track justtttt a little. Fall in Virginia is a tricky tricky time; one day it is 70 degrees and you’re wearing cutoffs and the next day you are bundling up in your coziest sweater because it is 45. However, I am constantly forgetting to check the weather before I get dressed in the morning, resulting in tons of grumbling and complaining to myself as I walk to the car to head to work.
Confession: I am lazy. Well, I wouldn’t say lazy. Rather, I would say that I despise working out. Despise. However, I like all of the things that are involved in working out – specifically the clothes. So I do what any other fashion girl who loves workout clothes would do – seamlessly work them into my every day wardrobe. These Fabletics leggings are my most recent favorite fake work out gear and I cannot get enough of them. Do yourself a favor and check out all of the amazing patterns that they come in. You’ll need more than one pair so check out all that Fabletics has to offer & get $10 off with THIS LINK. Continue reading “My Amazfit”
*I feel like I start a lot of posts like this but…*
One of my favorite things about being a blogger is getting to work with brands that otherwise would not be on our day to day radar. (No offense to H&M, Zara, Forever 21 & Free People because we love those brands, of course). From local jewelry designers to companies trying to make a splash with one simple piece to amazingly crafted wears from designers abroad, we’ve been exposed to some seriously talented folks and I love getting to write about it on here.

This jumpsuit is named adequately “Midsummer’s Dream” and I sure do feel like I’m a little fairy flitting thru the woods when I’m wearing it. Literally, it makes me want to prance around. However, we have said goodbye to the dog days of summer and are making our way well into fall here in #RVA. This morning I woke up and it was so chilly, I almost had to put on a jacket. As cliche as it is to say, how is it seriously almost mid-October?! Continue reading “Midsummer Dreaming into Fall”
It’s no secret that my motivation to become a blogger is rooted in my discovery of Tibi and designer, Amy Smilovic, 6 years ago. I have loved watching the evolution of the brand and I know that each and every season, there is going to be something new and interesting. I have pieces in my closet (a pair of Mary Janes, a Jumpsuit) that are among some of my first Tibi pieces and I don’t think I will ever have the heart to throw them out, even when they are worn completely through. They help to serve as a constant reminder of where this whole adventure began and I’ve grown so accustomed to seeing them on a daily basis.
Ok, get to the point Rebecca… Continue reading “Tibi Bell Sleeve Dress”
