*I feel like I start a lot of posts like this but…*
One of my favorite things about being a blogger is getting to work with brands that otherwise would not be on our day to day radar. (No offense to H&M, Zara, Forever 21 & Free People because we love those brands, of course). From local jewelry designers to companies trying to make a splash with one simple piece to amazingly crafted wears from designers abroad, we’ve been exposed to some seriously talented folks and I love getting to write about it on here.

This jumpsuit is named adequately “Midsummer’s Dream” and I sure do feel like I’m a little fairy flitting thru the woods when I’m wearing it. Literally, it makes me want to prance around. However, we have said goodbye to the dog days of summer and are making our way well into fall here in #RVA. This morning I woke up and it was so chilly, I almost had to put on a jacket. As cliche as it is to say, how is it seriously almost mid-October?! Continue reading “Midsummer Dreaming into Fall”
It’s no secret that my motivation to become a blogger is rooted in my discovery of Tibi and designer, Amy Smilovic, 6 years ago. I have loved watching the evolution of the brand and I know that each and every season, there is going to be something new and interesting. I have pieces in my closet (a pair of Mary Janes, a Jumpsuit) that are among some of my first Tibi pieces and I don’t think I will ever have the heart to throw them out, even when they are worn completely through. They help to serve as a constant reminder of where this whole adventure began and I’ve grown so accustomed to seeing them on a daily basis.
Ok, get to the point Rebecca… Continue reading “Tibi Bell Sleeve Dress”
Packing for Fashion Week is always SUCH a struggle. (Yes, I know this is a seriously cliche fashion blogger statement, but just bear with me).
This season, I knew I had to have some sort of strategy so as to not go totally insane during the process. To make matters worse, I just moved into our new house this summer and my clothes are EVERYWHERE; downstairs closets, upstairs closets, the attic, my car and yes, even at Catherine’s house. It’s always tempting to pack all of your ‘HEY LOOK AT ME’ pieces when heading to New York so as to capture the eyes (lenses) of the Street Style photogs and in our instance, yes, Cath and I would like to think of ourselves as the next Caroline Vreeland and Shea Marie. Every girl has a dream bag. You know, that bag that you have been pining for since it was first released? You know, the one that you beg your husband to get you for years, knowing it probably will never happen? For me, that bag is this black Chanel Boy Bag. However, I didn’t have to break the bank entirely in order to carry this beauty with me during NYFW thanks to Bag, Borrow or Steal! Not only is this bag the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen, but it was also the PERFECT size to carry during those long days in New York, going from show to show. It perfectly held my lipstick, rosewater spray and cell phone which are, according to moi, the fashion week essentials. Continue reading “Chanel Boy Bag”

While sometimes, especially around our bi-annual trips to New York for Fashion Week, I feel like we are missing out by living in a “small” city, other times I am reminded of just how lucky we are to call Richmond our home. Sure, there’s Barney’s and Bloomingdale’s in New York (both of which we are sure to visit each and every time), but here in Richmond we have perfectly curated boutiques, like Roan. Catherine showed off one of her favorite picks from our collaboration with Roan last week, and I am simply obsessed with this Elizabeth & James vest that jumped off of the racks and into my arms. I’ll reiterate what Catherine said >> if you haven’t been into Roan, or seen what they’ve got online, you’re missing out! Continue reading “Hometown Love”

There are quite a few things (aka one million) that need to be done in preparation before Fashion Week. So far, I’ve talked about one of my favorite fall trends that will make the trip with us, but there are SO many more factors that go into these bi-annual trips. We are currently in the midst of planning for shows, parties, brand events, etc but to be honest, one of my most favorite things about the trip is the hotel sleepovers with Cath. In the morning and every night before bed we get to talk about the day, about our goals, about various other TCP goings on and also just have plain old girl talk. Continue reading “Girl Talk”

With the Olympics come and gone in a jiff, it reminds me that there are some things in life that I have gotten past the point of achieving. Not that I am ANY sort of athlete – the closest I can claim is a ballerina – but it just brings those thoughts to the forefront of the mind. I will never compete in the Olympic games. Similarly, I will never be a stand out high school or college athlete as I’m in my late twenties and I will probably never become a pop singing sensation or a contestant on a reality show. (more of a self preference for that last one.)

It has been so unbearably hot these past few weeks and it has been so tempting to just hole up in our air conditioned living room and binge watch Netflix, Hulu and HBO with a bottle of wine. (Don’t get me wrong, there has been plenty of that ) However, there are a few summer traditions that our friends have that we do our best to repeat every year, regardless of the desert conditions and the humid Virginia air.

*warning:semi-sappy post ahead* Recently John and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary and the year has seriously flown by. Our first year was full of so many new and fun adventures, including, as most of you know by now, buying a house! (See above photo for my exact feelings on the subject). We decided to turn the whole weekend into a mini celebration here in Richmond, since we weren’t able to make it back up to The Homestead.
We spent the rest of the weekend with friends, gallivanting around town, hitting some of our favorite spots, and trying to beat the 100 degree heat (which was not an easy task by any stretch of the imagination). We had the most delicious dinner at Stella’s the Monday of our anniversary and of course it did not disappoint. A bottle of wine, saganaki and a whole lot of feta was just what the doctor ordered!
Shoutout to John, Mr. Crystal Press, for the best year of my life and for his undying love and support – especially when it comes to TCP. I couldn’t it without him and for that I am truly thankful. Thanks Johnny, this is just the beginning!!
